Let us imagine how tall will be these famous landmarks built in various scales:
| Skyscraper | Real height (m) |
1/500 (cm) |
1/1000 (cm) |
1/1500 (cm) |
1/1700 (cm) |
1/2000 (cm) |
| Transamerica Pyramid | 260 | 52 | 26 | 17 | 15 | 13 |
| Chrysler Building | 319 | 64 | 32 | 21 | 19 | 16 |
| Taipei 101 | 509 | 102 | 51 | 34 | 30 | 25 |
| Willis (ex-Sears) Tower | 527 | 105 | 53 | 35 | 31 | 26 |
| Burj Dubai | 818 | 164 | 82 | 55 | 48 | 41 |
So what do you say?

i prefer to use 1:1700 scale but i also enjoy making models of my own design on 1:100. usually these models are around 6ocm representing a 60m tall building and this scale also enables you to add individual floors and minutes details like humans, however this scale is not appropriate for supertall skyscrapers as they would be more than 3m tall and the burj dubai would be 8.18m tall. very in-appropriate
thankyou
